Six workshops held on 23, 24 and 27 July were attended by 245 experts from over 50 organisations, not only from Red Eléctrica, but also universities, research centres and companies in the sector, with the intention of sharing information and knowledge to move forward with the definition of the objectives of Red Eléctrica’s new Innovation and Technological Development Plan (2016-2019).
This plan sets out six priority technological lines: disruptive research, discontinuous innovation, automation and robotics, state of equipment and facilities, improved use of new resources, and climate change and biodiversity.
Thus, in addition to putting forth the experience and knowledge of the staff of Red Eléctrica, the vision of professionals from other scopes related to REE’s activity can be taken into account in the definition of the Company’s work programmes.
Since the R&D+i Committee approved the commencement of work on 26 February 2015, the structure of the Plan has started to be defined based on the Strategic Plan 2014-2019 and also on the transversal innovation strategy. The basic pillars of the Plan are: efficiency in the development of activities, strengthening the culture of innovation, and the commitment of the Company to society and the environment.
