Red Eléctrica de España collaborates again this year with the University of La Laguna through the donation of 3,000 euros in festival tickets to facilitate the attendance of students with better academic records to the Starmus III Festival: "Tribute to Stephen Hawking, Beyond the Horizon" being held on the islands of Tenerife and La Palma from 27 June to 2 July.
This collaboration of Red Eléctrica de España with the University of La Laguna is part of the agreement between the two entities for the development of joint action programmes within the scope of training, culture and technological science. The agreement was signed by the rector of the University of La Laguna, Antonio Martiñón, Red Eléctrica’s Manager of Institutional Relations Area of, Fatima Rojas, and the Company’s regional delegate in the Canary Islands, Ainara Irigoyen.
Starmus III Festival: "Tribute to Stephen Hawking, Beyond the Horizon" is an international contemporary scientific event that brings together, through music, art and science, eleven Nobel Prize laureates from different disciplines, scientists, astronauts and artists, and invites experts, science-overs and those who are curious to discover and adventure into the major threats and discoveries that have a major global impact.
The Starmus Festival has a clear focus on being a dissemination tool and is intended to act as the gateway to knowledge regarding the creation of the cosmos, the origin of stars and other discoveries associated with the world of astrophysics.
