Red Eléctrica de España has collaborated with the Seville Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Intelligent Services Centre for Energy Management-CSIGE on the organisation of Intelligent Energy Forums, in which more than 200 entrepreneurs in the energy and renewable energy sector took part. These forums have been organised on occasion of the International Year of Light 2015, in order to assess within a business context the importance of knowledge management in the energy sector.
The experts involved have acknowledged that energy is an essential resource for the development of society and for businesses, especially for SMEs, whose competitiveness is linked to the optimisation of energy consumption to achieve the desired efficiency.
Red Eléctrica was the protagonist in the closure of the forum with a presentation by Julio Alguacil, Assistant Deputy Director of Services for Transmission. In his presentation, Mr. Alguacil stressed the commitment of the Company to a culture of innovation as a key strategic element to successfully address the new scenarios posed by the transformation of the energy sector. In this regard, he assured that the integration of renewable energies into the electricity system is one of the most important technological challenges in order to build a more sustainable and efficient energy model, a field in which Red Eléctrica de España is a pioneer and world leader.
