Red Eléctrica, together with HC Energía, Endesa, Estabanel Energía, Iberdrola Distribución, Unión Fenosa Distribución and Viesgo, today launched the publication of a book entitled 'Adjustment criteria and coordination of protections in the peninsular high-voltage transmission grid and distribution network’, a monographic that fulfils compliance requirements set out in Operating Procedure 11.1 (OP) which establishes that the system operator (Red Eléctrica) will establish the criteria with the collaboration of those entities affected.
In view of the incidents that occurred years ago, resulting from uncoordinated actions of the protection systems, Red Eléctrica launched a working group in 2004 that includes the participation of the main distribution companies and transmission agents in Spain to comply with said OP with regard to that stipulated in relation to the coordination of the protections of the managed grid and those of the distribution network.
This book, which is the result of 12 years of joint effort between the members of the working group, aims to establish adjustments of the protection equipment of the facilities of the managed grid, as well as the coordination of the same with the generation and distribution facilities directly connected to the managed grid, to ensure the continuity and quality of the electricity supply at all times.
The digital version of the book 'Adjustment criteria and coordination of protections in the peninsular high-voltage transmission grid and distribution network’ (only available in Spanish) can be viewed on the corporate webpage of Red Eléctrica de España via this link.
