Red Eléctrica’s Chief Financial Officer, Teresa Quirós, has been chosen by Actualidad Económica magazine and KPMG as one of the Year’s 100 Best Financiers.
Teresa Quirós also received an honourable mention that recognises the 25 financial managers that, within the top 100, have stood out as the most innovative for their vision and drive in different aspects related to digital transformation.
The awards, which were handed out 20 March, recognise the work of a selection of financial managers of Spanish companies from all sectors and activities.
The event was presided over by the Governor of Bank of Spain, Luis María Linde, who indicated that “the financial control of companies has proven to be one of the main assets during the crisis”. In addition, he highlighted the job of CFOs, who “play a fundamental role in making strategic decisions and designing systems to hedge risks”.
Both the Director of Actualidad Económica and the President of KPMG concurred that financial managers must be strategic and have great influence in making decisions for companies, in many of which, the financial departments are pioneers in the digital transformation in order to respond to an increasingly demanding in business environment in terms of transparency and internal control.
