The ceramic artist Carlos Garrido will be in charge of creating the third ceramic mural of this municipality of Toledo, a piece of artwork of 30 metres in length that Red Eléctrica de España is sponsoring and whose theme is the celebration of the Mondas festivities, which are celebrated on the Saturday immediately following Easter Week.

The Mayor of Talavera de la Reina, Jaime Ramos, revealed the name of the ceramic artist in charge of creating the artwork at a press conference attended by the Chairman of Red Eléctrica de España, José Folgado, together with the Company’s Regional Delegate in Castilla-La Mancha, José Ignacio Fernández Somalo.

The artwork will address the Marian religious devotion to Nuestra Señora del Prado, known as the Mondas festival, from its origins to the present day, and will include the participation of other municipalities in the region in order to have a ceramic tile similar to that of the mural of the Fishermen, inaugurated in 2015 in the municipality.

The Mayor of Talavera de la Reina has commented that this mural, which will be located in Adalid Meneses Street, covering an area from the Puerta de Mérida to the corner of the city’s Courts, is part of a larger project that contemplates a tour of the ceramic murals. In this regard, he has been announced that work is already underway to create a fourth mural.
