Red Eléctrica’s Delegate in Aragón, José Ignacio Lallana, and the Mayor of Monzón, Álvaro Burrell, have signed a collaboration agreement through which the Company will support the cultural activity undertaken in Monzón and, more specifically, supply the equipment for the new study facilities that the city’s Council will make available this year for the local population.
Under this agreement, Red Eléctrica will contribute 10,000 euros towards the purchase of furniture for the study facilities which will be located in the Plaza Mayor and, additionally, will donate three full sets of IT equipment that may be used by the Centre's users.
This collaboration is part of the corporate social responsibility actions carried out by Red Eléctrica and which include various measures to support municipalities in which the Company operates and has its facilities, such as is the case of Monzón. These initiatives regularly include the donations of equipment which help improve the provision of services for citizens and favour the organisation of cultural and social activities.
Red Eléctrica has, among other facilities, two substations in the municipality of Monzón (the Monzón and Cinca substations) that supply the electricity necessary to cover the consumption needs of the municipality, in addition to a work centre which is responsible for the infrastructure maintenance activities in the province of Huesca.
Both today and in the past, the industrial development of Monzón and its outlying areas has been possible thanks to the infrastructure managed by Red Eléctrica de España for the supply of electricity, which allow the establishment and growth of companies with high electricity consumption.
