Red Eléctrica de España has obtained 100 points and, therefore, has been included for the first time in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) in CDP’s Iberia report regarding transparency of information regarding climate change.

In accordance with CDP criteria, a high score in transparency shows that the Company has provided comprehensive information on the measurement and management of their carbon footprint, its climate change strategy and the processes and outcomes of risk management.

The fight against climate change is a firm commitment that Red Eléctrica maintains and is reflected in its environmental policy and its Climate Change Strategy. This year, the Company has reaffirmed and promoted said commitment through the adoption of the 2015-2020 Climate Change Action Plan, which sets out the objectives within this field as well as the measures put in place to achieve them.

The improvement in the collation and processing of information related to the emissions associated with Red Eléctrica’s activities and their evolution is part of the objectives laid down in this plan.

Carbon Disclosure Programme is an international non-profit organisation which aims to provide a comprehensive system for the dissemination of environmental information that helps investors, companies and governments to mitigate risks in the use of energy and natural resources as well as to identify opportunities for a more responsible approach regarding the environment.
