Red Eléctrica presents the ‘Enlace’ Trophies to the leaders of the 35th edition of the ‘Copa del Rey de Vela’

Through of these trophies, Red Eléctrica distinguishes the crews of the yachts which are leading their class in the race standings at the midpoint of the competition, among which is the crew of the yacht sponsored by the Company in the X-35 class.

The President of the Organising Committee of the Copa del Rey de Vela (King’s Cup sailing competition), Javier Sanz; the Manager of Institutional Relations Area of Red Eléctrica de España, Fátima Rojas, and the Company’s Regional Delegate in the Balearic Islands, Eduardo Maynau, yesterday presented the Enlace (Link) Trophies of the 35th edition of this sailing competition.

The trophies, sponsored by Red Eléctrica, were presented at the Real Club Náutico de Palma at the end of the third day of competition to the crews of the racing yachts in each of the eight classes who were leading the standings at the midpoint of the Copa del Rey regatta. Among those receiving the award presented, was the crew of the Red Eléctrica de España, as provisional leader in its class, the X-35 class.

Red Eléctrica is participating in this regatta for the seventh consecutive year, while this is the third year running that it has both sponsored and presented the Enlace Awards in the Copa del Rey competition. The name of the trophy refers to the submarine electricity interconnection projects between the islands carried out by the Company in the Balearic Islands which are essential for the safety and security of the electricity supply in the archipelago.

The trophies were given to the crews of Maserati, BMW ORC1 class; Movistar, BMW ORC2; Azzurra, Singular Kitchen IRC1; Armin Strom Sailing Team, GC32; Red Eléctrica de España, Air Europa X-35; Les Roches Marbella Puente Romano, Herbalife J80; Earlybird, MRW Swan 45, and Bella Mente, Montblanc Maxi 72 class.
