Red Eléctrica de España is one of the founding members of the Aragon Energy Cluster, created to promote the innovation, collaboration, and competitiveness of sector companies in the autonomous community. Though its number may grow in the future, the 37 members that launched the cluster include generation, transmission, distribution, marketing and auxiliary services companies, as well as training centres, public and private research units, and organisations that support business activity.

The incorporation ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Government of Aragon, where José Ignacio Lallana, Manager in Aragon and La Rioja, represented Red Eléctrica.

In addition to representing the energy sector before the various administrations, the cluster will seek domestic and international projects in which to participate as a partner, promote the use of new technologies, and develop education and awareness initiatives regarding efficient energy use and environmental sustainability. The entity will also focus on supporting new companies linked to the energy sector, including the search for funding and the promotion of research, development and innovation activities.

These goals are associated with Red Eléctrica’s activity in Aragon, where it manages and maintains 3,370 kilometres of electricity transmission circuits and where it has invested 132.8 million euros since 2012.

It also conducts corporate responsibility and support activities in the municipalities where it operates and collaborates on environmental matters with the Government of Aragon.

José Ignacio Lallana, Manager of Ebro Regional Office, represented Red Eléctrica in the incorporation ceremony.
