The manager of Red Eléctrica de España’s central regional office, José Ignacio Fernández Somalo, and the mayor of Talavera de la Reina (Toledo), Jaime Ramos, signed a collaboration agreement under which the company will contribute €6,000 to fund end-of-degree thesis projects and postgraduate programmes on Talavera ceramics.

A monitoring committee will be created to manage and award the grants, which are open to university students interested in any aspect of the pottery that is symbolic of Talavera.

The mayor praised the high degree of collaboration that exists between the City Council and Red Eléctrica, with whom another agreement has already been signed through which the company will finance a mural in the municipality.

For his part, Fernández Somalo explained that this collaboration corresponds to the company’s commitment to develop projects of social interest sponsored by the City Council.
