For the second consecutive year, Red Eléctrica has participated in the popular “Heart Race”, organized by the Spanish Heart Foundation and held on Saturday 26 September in Madrid.
Around 80 employees of Red Eléctrica de España and their families signed up for this sixth edition of the race in one of the following categories: a 10 kilometre run for those used to running, a 4.5 km walk for those who prefer to power walk, or children's races for youngsters to help get them in the habit of practicing healthy activities. The registration fee for both the employee and their families was covered by the Company. The total amount raised through the sign-up fees will be used for research in the field of heart health.
This sporting event is a festive and healthy coming together to raise awareness of the need to become more active and to raise awareness of the dangers of cardiovascular diseases. The sixth edition of the "Heart Race" aims to emphasise that a healthy lifestyle together with a balanced diet and physical activity on a regular basis are the best tools to keep our hearts in shape.
This initiative is part of the actions that Red Eléctrica de España promotes as part of its Healthy Workplace model in order to encourage a healthy lifestyle as the basis for good health and wellbeing.
