Red Eléctrica, distinguished in the 18th edition of the Citizens Awards (‘Premios Ciudadanos’)

The 18th edition of the Citizens Awards has resolved to honour Red Eléctrica de España for its activities regarding the dissemination of the contribution of light to the progress of society in the fields of health, education, culture and the economy.

To commemorate the International Year of Light in 2015, and on occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Company, Red Eléctrica is carrying out numerous activities nationwide to raise awareness among citizens of the importance that energy and the phenomenon of light have in our society.

Red Eléctrica’s Regional Delegate in Madrid, José Ignacio Fernández, and the Manager of the Institutional Relation Department, Fátima Rojas, attended the presentation ceremony for this recognition on 26 November.

The Citizens Awards were conceived with the aim of distinguishing awareness campaigns, projects and the recognition to individuals or institutions that have an impact on the city and the citizens and be promoters of social, cultural, civic and democratic values ​​and identity hallmarks, within the framework of Gender Equality, Culture, Labour, Education, immigrant integration, the rights of the elderly and children, development cooperation, European citizenship, youth in action, the culture of peace, human rights, environmental sustainability, clean energy and in general, those relevant impact on citizens.
