Red Eléctrica and the Turia natural park held an awareness workshop about the role of insectivorous birds.

Red Eléctrica donated a total of 80 nest-boxes to promote the nesting of insectivorous birds during a workshop that included an interpretive tour of the La Vallesa hillside and highlighted the role of insectivorous birds in the Turia natural park, in the province of Valencia.
The workshop, which featured the participation of families accompanied by environmental experts and educators, demonstrated the importance of these birds in areas where the necessary support to install nests has diminished, such as mature forests and farmland with mature trees. The company subsequently collaborated with the Turia natural park through the donation of these nest-boxes.
This donation is included in the biodiversity agreement signed between the company and the Generalitat and is in addition to the collaboration agreement recently signed with the Limne Foundation to create a riverbank woodland in the municipalities of Manises and Ribarroja del Turia, in this same protected natural space.
Both actions are part of the company’s biodiversity strategy and demonstrate the commitment to promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically, the fulfilment of Goal 15 to sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, and halt biodiversity loss.
