Red Eléctrica’s Delegate in Castilla y León, José Ignacio Fernández, and the Mayor of Villamayor, Manuel Gago, have this morning signed a collaboration agreement whereby the Company will sponsor the 16th edition of the Semana de la Piedra to be held shortly in this town.
As part of this collaboration agreement, Red Eléctrica will contribute 25,690 euros to finance this event that each year honours the stone quarries of Villamayor, recalling the importance of their use, for centuries, in the construction of many civil and religious monuments in Salamanca.
The agreement is encompassed within the principles of Red Eléctrica’s corporate responsibility policy as are the commitment to the promotion of culture and social well-being, and that seek to contribute to the sustainable development and the creation of value in areas where the Company has its facilities.
Following the signature of this agreement, Red Eléctrica’s Delegate and the Mayor of Villamayor were accompanied by the head of the Territorial Service for Industry of the Regional Government of Castilla y Leon, Luis Heredero, on a visit to the 220-kilovolt Villamayor electricity substation, one of the most important electricity transmission grid nodes in the province of Salamanca, recently expanded to guarantee the supply for the high-speed train between Medina del Campo and Salamanca.
