The Regional Delegate for Red Eléctrica de España in the Balearic Islands, Eduardo Maynau, and the President of the APROSCOM Foundation, Pedro Suñer, have today signed a collaboration agreement whereby the Company will provide the Joan Mesquida Special Education Centre, located in Manacor (Majorca), with new equipment for educational purposes to improve the services and assistance provided to people with disabilities.
The agreement, for a total sum of eight thousand euros, not only contemplates the renovation of the equipment for educational purposes but also the creation of an IT classroom. Furthermore, the Company has donated 25 computers for the teachers and administrative staff of the Centre.
APROSCOM, the association for the protection of people with intellectual disabilities from Manacor and its outlying areas, was set up by Joan Mesquida in 1969 to provide support to people with intellectual disabilities or developmental disorders and to their families, with the aim of promoting inclusion and improving their quality of life. Through its network of services, it deals with more than 450 beneficiaries of all ages.
The agreement is part of Red Eléctrica’s social action, an essential element of its corporate responsibility policy, whose aim is to help promote progress and well-being in the communities and territories in which the Company’s facilities are located, generating shared value in an ongoing manner.
