Red Eléctrica de España’s Manager of the Northern Regional Office, Antonio González, and the director of the Bilbao School of Engineering at the Universidad del País Vasco (EHU-UPV), Enrique Amezua, have signed a framework collaboration agreement to promote the exchange of knowledge, research, and training in the field of electrical power transmission.

With an initial term of three years, this agreement aims to advance scientific development and progress in the community. Accordingly, joint initiatives will be undertaken in several priority areas, such the conducting of studies and research, and the training and ongoing improvement of students, teachers, and researchers.

The projects will be outlined in specific agreements and will promote, among other aspects, the participation of Red Eléctrica experts at seminars at the School of Engineering, as well as educational cooperation programmes and internships targeting students.

In addition, the School of Engineering will promote informative initiatives in the spring semester of 2018. To that end, it expects to organise workshops on the electricity interconnection project in the Bay of Biscay, in which Red Eléctrica is currently engaged in the initial phase of processing, consulting, and public participation.
