Red Eléctrica and the Campus of International Excellence of the Sea agree to carry out marine studies

CEI-MAR Foundation will carry out a scientific study prior to the environmental impact declaration of the submarine cable project between the Spanish Peninsula and Ceuta.

 José Folgado, Chairman of Red Eléctrica, and Eduardo González Mazo, President of the Campus of International Excellence of the Sea (CEI-MAR) and vice-chancellor of the University of Cádiz, presented in Cádiz the details of the collaboration agreement between the two entities for the scientific study prior to the environmental impact declaration of the submarine electrical cable project that will connect the Spanish Peninsula with Ceuta.

Red Eléctrica has chosen the CEI-MAR Foundation to carry out this project due to the experience and knowledge accumulated by its researchers in the marine field, from the sciences to the world of culture, engineering or the arts.

Throughout the day, the chairman of Red Eléctrica also visited the UCADIZ; the oceanographic research vessel from which the main research work on the seabed will be undertaken through which the new electric cable will be laid.
