The residents of Monzón (Huesca) now have a fully-equipped study room thanks to the collaboration agreement signed by the Manager of the Aragón Regional Office of Red Eléctrica de España, José Ignacio Lallana, and the town mayor, Álvaro Burrell. Under this agreement, the company has contributed 10,000 Euros which will be used for purchasing furniture, and has also donated IT equipment for the centre's users.
The study room, which has recently opened its doors in the town's Plaza Mayor, has 150 square metres distributed across two levels, which residents of this town in the Alto Aragón territory can access 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, by means of an electronic card.
This action forms part of Red Eléctrica's corporate responsibility activities, which include measures to provide support to towns where the company is present.
Within the municipality of Monzón, Red Eléctrica has two substations that are essential for electrical supply: the Monzón substation which connects to the 220 kilovolt Grado I-Monzón-Cinca-Mequinenza axis, and the Cinca substation, which both serve the town's electricity consumption needs, in addition to a work centre which manages the maintenance of infrastructure in Huesca province. All of these are crucial for the industrial development of the town and its surroundings, where several companies with high electricity consumption requirements are based.
