At EREN headquarters in León, the director general of Energy and Mines of the Junta de Castilla y León and director of EREN, Ricardo González; REE’s regional delegate in Castilla y León, José Ignacio Fernández; the vice-rector of Resource and Infrastructure Management of the ULE, Adolfo Rodríguez; and the director of the 6th Electrical Energy Campus, Jorge Blanes, presented the program for this educational project that aims to bring the energy industry into the classroom.
The Castilla y León Electrical Energy Campus is developed under the partnership agreement between EREN and REE, with technical support from the Universidad de León and the Triangular-E3 International Campus of Excellence (CEI Triangular–E3). A total of 527 alumni have been trained in the five previous editions of this initiative.
The course, which will be held in the second half of July, will be international in nature and will target technical students in the final years of a master’s program from various universities.
Red Eléctrica provides the Campus with a cadre of experts in the transmission of electrical energy and the operation of Spain’s electrical grid. A visit to the La Mudarra (Valladolid) power substation is also planned so students can learn about the technical characteristics and functions that make this infrastructure crucial to the electrical system.
