Red Eléctrica de España has been involved in the workshops of the “Ciència per a tothom” (Science for Everybody) programme organised in Ibiza by the University of the Balearic Islands from 6 to 8 March, with a stand and workshop for the digital game entreREDes with 163 third and fourth year secondary school and first year baccalaureate students from four Ibiza schools.
The digital game entreREDes is a creation of Red Eléctrica to teach secondary school students more about the operation of the electrical system, promote energy efficiency and present the relation between electricity and sustainable social progress while reviewing curriculum material in an interesting way.
“Science for Everybody” is a programme to promote scientific and thecnical vocations, aimed at secondary school and baccalaureate students and sponsored by Balearic University. On this occasion, students from twelve schools in Ibiza and Formentera participated in practical activities related to the technical and scientific content of their educational levels.
The University of the Balearic Islands and Red Eléctrica recently signed a cooperation agreement to introduce and publicise the game entreREDes in secondary educational centres in Ibiza and Formentera, a practice that is included in the SERÀS UIB activity programme and in the UIB Orientation and Transition Programme.
