To mark the International ‘Equal Pay Day’, Red Eléctrica de España today hosted today a visit from the Director of the Institute for Women and Equal Opportunities, Rosa Urbón. The Company stands out for its commitment to workplace equality between men and women, as evidenced by the fact that it was one of the first companies that obtained the seal for "Equality in the Workplace" in 2010
In this regard, Red Eléctrica in 2009 adopted its first Comprehensive Equality Plan, whose main lines of actions cover issues such as compliance and improvement of that set out in the current legislation, diversity management and increasing the presence of women in traditionally male positions.
Among other actions implemented, the Company participates in the management development programmes for future managers in the School of Industrial Organisation and the Promociona project, promoted by the Institute for Women and Equal Opportunities.
On the other hand, Red Eléctrica has signed collaboration agreements with the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality to increase the presence of women in management positions and on the Board of Directors. In the latter, women now account for 41.66% of the same.
