The Director of Corporate Affairs and Institutional Relationship for Red Eléctrica de España, Ana Cuevas; the Company’s Regional Delegate in Catalonia, Luis Pinós, and the President of the Girona Regional Council, Jaume Busquets i Arnau, have signed a collaboration agreement to support musical education activities at the Girona School of Music.
The collaboration between the two institutions will promote this educational and musical project that aims to promote the school within the territory and to society by carrying out different activities. Noteworthy among them are the development of a virtual platform for teachers and the administration of the school, the acquisition and the replacement of different materials for the classrooms, the purchase of instruments for first-year students and the creation of a bank of instruments, as well as educational nature outings to musical performances.
In addition, a tour circuit around the entire region has been set up for concerts and performances by the Girona School of Music. In this context, last year the school gave a concert in the Castillo de Perelada for the inauguration of the electricity interconnection with France. This year, another concert has been scheduled at one of the acts that Red Eléctrica will be celebrating in the coming months.
The Girona Regional Council is a territorial body formed by the grouping together of 27 municipalities, whose main task is to ensure the interests of the region of Girona. In this respect, it seeks to promote and disseminate music, musical knowledge and training to all peoples of the region.
In addition, this commitment is included as a ‘Social Action’ aspect; an aspect that is an essential element of Red Eléctrica’s Corporate Responsibility Policy. The policy aims to bring about a positive impact on society and the social setting, promoting the progress and well-being of the communities and territories where the Company’s facilities are present, and to help facilitate the development of a sustainable energy model.
