Red Eléctrica sponsors these trophies, which take their name from the submarine electricity interconnection projects developed by the company in the Balearic Islands.

The President of the Copa del Rey Organising Committee, Javier Sanz, Red Eléctrica de España’s General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Directors, Rafael García de Diego, Assistant Corporate Director to the CEO, Francisco Ruiz, and Red Eléctrica’s Regional Delegate in the Balearic Islands, Eduardo Maynau, awarded the ‘Enlace’ (Link) trophies at the half-way stage in the 36th edition of the Copa del Rey sailing competition.
At the presentation ceremony, which took place at Real Club Náutico de Palma, trophies were awarded to the crews of the competing yachts that had made the best start to the regatta and were running in the lead in each of the ten competitive classes at the end of the third day of the Copa de Rey sailing competition, the half-way point.
Red Eléctrica is competing in the event for the eighth consecutive year, and the company has also sponsored and awarded the ‘Enlace’ trophies for the last four years. The name given to these trophies reflects the company’s activities as electricity system and transmission line operator and refers in particular to the development of submarine power line projects that connect the Balearic Islands and mainland Spain.
In the BMW ORC1 class, the trophy was awarded to Aifos; in the Swan 50 class, it went to Early Bird; the Mallorca Sotheby’s IRC class was won by Team Vision Future; in the Herbalife J80 class the trophy went to Les Roches Jeunesse Marbella Team; in the BMW ORC2 class, it was awarded to Maverta Defcom Seguridad; the MRW Swan 45 class was won by Elena Nova; in the Maxi 72 class, the trophy went to Momo; in the BMW ORC3 class it went to Grupo Ceres; the Swan 42 class was won by Pez de Abril; and finally, the GC32 class trophy was won by Realteam.
